Job Summary

Performs clerical services and tasks for a specific unit in healthcare facilities. Answering phone calls and responding to patients/residents inquires about healthcare programs and services. Receiving and dispatching correspondence for designated unit. Assisting with administrative tasks for a specific healthcare unit, such as ordering supplies and scheduling. Collaborating to create and maintain a clean environment within healthcare facilities.

Position Details:

Answering phone calls from outlying facilities and providers requesting transfers of patients into Sanford Sioux Falls. Assisting RN colleagues with requests for patient transfers and transportation of incoming patients. Providing support to RN and Physician staff during telemedicine calls. This non-clinical role does not involve direct patient care or contact.

-Opportunity to work in a small unit with other Unit Secretaries and RNs

Schedule Details:

-Full-time, 3 shifts per week. 12 hours per shift.

-Days, Nights, Rotating Weekends and Holidays.

-6a-6:30p and 6p-6:30a


High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

At least one year experience in a healthcare setting and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

May require Basic Life Support (BLS) certification dependent upon department.
