JOB SUMMARY

Contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first hand experience that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Must have good human relations and communications skills; must be able to follow procedures and instructions given by the leadership staff. Must have strong problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The IT Intern must possess the skills necessary for understanding written policies and procedures, project a positive attitude and good customer service skills, perform various functions under the supervision of the respective IT Director, Manager or Project Manager, and participate in the overall operations of the designated area of the department. The IT Intern must demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to learn and problem solve, a fundamental working knowledge of computers and utilize the technology necessary for performing the job. This individual will obtain the vision and values that are compatible with the organization. Internship Responsibilities: • Processing of SER’s (Provider Record Heat Tickets), MyChart Online Processing, Miscellaneous Projects • Will provider orientation/mentorship to what the responsibilities of the role will be. • Will provide a team contact for the intern to ask questions of. HEAT & other appropriate application training required for the necessary duties. • Potential phone calls to staff within the organization as well as patients to clarify questions/resolve issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

Varying levels of education based on Internship. • Be able to multi-task • Be able to possess good customer service skills • Good typing/computer skills • Attention to detail • Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Clinical Informatics or an immediate graduate having received one of the previously listed degrees • Must be able to commit to the hours Scheduled during the 12 week internship • Strong communication skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
