JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Clinical Informatics Analyst demonstrates a clinical background with a special interest and expertise in use of the electronic medical record and other technology the enhances clinical practice. Acts as a liaison between assigned departments, facilities, providers and Information Technology (IT) staff in order to facilitate optimal use of applications.

Responsible to assist assigned departments, geographical areas or specific functions with utilization of Sanford's electronic medical record (EMR) and associated clinical technology. Key areas of accountability include individual and classroom training, onsite and remote end-user support, development of supporting clinical workflows, investigation and resolution of application and workflow issues, and participation in committees that promote both the standardization and optimization of clinical informatics changes to Sanford's EMR and other associated technology.

May require some periodic day and overnight travel, non-business hour scheduled support or meetings as well as on-call rotation for end-user support.

Within World Clinics, this role guides cross-cultural teams of both domestic and international resources. Creates shared meaning, purpose, and goals among cross-cultural teams. Fosters a work environment of respect, professionalism, accountability and teamwork. Launches electronic medical records (EMR) systems in new clinics and serves as a resource to clinics after implementation. Travel to international and domestic sites required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary assignment will be Home Health / Hospice as well as other settings.

Responds to shifting priorities while maintaining progress of regularly scheduled work. Delivers formal and informal stand-up presentations or demos to audiences of all kinds. Makes sound recommendations when faced with complex and contradictory alternatives. Analyzes and synthesizes information and devises alternative resolution strategies. Anticipates customer needs, focusing efforts to proactively meet needs and exceed customer expectations. Plans, implements, and manages change in a variety of significant settings. Practices positive collaboration and converts difficult interactions into productive ones. Uses multiple presentation tools and techniques, adapting/fitting them to audience and topic. Communicates effectively with diverse audiences, using appropriate media and language. Develops training programs for teaching staff about health information and documentation techniques. Recognizes behaviors that promote or stunt effective relationships in that country; acts accordingly. Recognizes and adapts to differences in background, culture, language and work style, when working with others. Takes ownership of meeting process and outcome. Possesses knowledge of tools and techniques for designing and implementing new processes. Proceeds without seeking unnecessary permission. Demonstrates an ability to adapt to continuous change in work demands.

QUALIFICATIONS

Current RN License required.

Appropriate education level required based on clinical license/certification.

Experience in post acute / home services care setting required. Strong background in healthcare preferred.

Licensed/registered in a clinical field required.
