The Leave Management Specialist role will focus on Leave Management and will respond to escalated inquiries from the Employee Services Center and other stakeholders and vendors by providing information regarding Leave of Absence (LOA) policies and guidelines. Receive and process LOA requests, Assess, adjudicate, track, and monitor all leave f absence claims (e.g. FMLA/ADA).
Complete and ensure accurate documentation for all disability activities including FMLA. Work with payroll to ensure employees on applicable leaves of absence are paid accurately. Coordinate the authorization of return to work using physician documentation, departmental ability to comply with restrictions, and knowledge of the physical requirements of the existing job or alternative job. Includes working with employees, leave management team, insurance carrier, ADA/Employee Relations and employee's leadership to get physical requirements of job. Assist employees in getting back to work and receiving appropriate benefits according to organizational policies and legal regulations. Ability to deliver high quality customer service consistently in a professional manner. Ability to follow strict policy guidelines as well as standard operating procedures. General analytical and problem solving skills. General organization skills. Attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with entering data. Ability to handle multiple customer requests in a timely manner. Strong customer service focus as well as strong interpersonal communication and listening skills. Effective prioritization, follow-up skills and the ability to escalate issues when necessary. Ability to deal with ambiguity. Flexibility to accommodate staff scheduling changes. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. General computer skills and proficient in intermediate Microsoft Office.
Identifies locally relevant tools or instruments for managing confidential information. Learns from mistakes and applies lessons learned. Demonstrates experience participating in productive collaborative processes. Uses the appropriate amount, pace and style of communication for each prospect and situation. Completes current work according to assigned priorities. Responds to day-to-day operational priorities while still making progress on project work. Develops trust and credibility by acting in a consistent, genuine manner. Collaborates with departmental associates and management.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business or related discipline required, or 6-8 years of equivalent human resources experience.
