Job Summary

Leads in the configuration, installation and maintenance of personal computers and applications. Installs and supports applications, systems and peripherals and engages in the implementation of new hardware, software or support of existing systems. Analyzes, troubleshoots, resolves performance issues and works with internal support teams, help desk and outside vendors to resolve tickets and implement new/upgraded systems. Requires general networking support and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the networking field. The Lead Personal Systems Technician works with unconventional devices or software packages that are unique to an individual or a department's needs. Requires exercising independent judgment to perform the functions of the job. Attends conferences and seminars, as needed, to obtain specific hardware/software knowledge. Gains extensive knowledge in the assigned subject matter application(s) and a basic working knowledge of the enterprise system applications. Incorporates appropriate presentation techniques to assist and/or lead training sessions. Ability to train and provide documentation on the assigned application(s) to users with varying education and learning abilities.

Researches, analyzes and makes recommendations for application workflow improvements. Develops and executes integration test plans and quality assurance measures, where applicable. Understands a systems approach to problem solving and process improvement. Extensive working knowledge in the configuration and maintenance of personal computers and related operating systems and applications. Working knowledge of the LAN's, WAN's, and connectivity applications. Ability to work with multiple departments and facilities in providing necessary support and installation of hardware and software standards. Good communication skills with our users to provide the appropriate support to their technical issues.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree in computer related field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. In lieu of education, eight years applicable experience working with personal computers.

Four years experience working with personal computers.

When applicable, may need a valid driver's license. If valid driver's license is required, must maintain a good driving record.
