JOB SUMMARY

Assists management in coordinating the general workflow of the Guest Service environment. Assists with staffing issues, scheduling maintenance, department training and orientation of new employees. Ensures consistency of workload dissemination. Excellent computer, telephone, office and interpersonal skills. Assists in taking ownership of the day-to-day operations of the Guest Services functions including, but not limited to, data entry, reports, informational changes, deletions, time and attendance, etc. Informs appropriate resource of malfunctioning equipment. Orders department office supplies and maintains appropriate par level, assuring staffs ability to perform their roles. Directs patients, family members, visitors and guest to patient rooms, various hospital departments, clinics and other Sanford locations. Provides logistical information to patients and visitors regarding available lodging and area businesses, serving as a resource to ensure information is accurate and up-to-date. Maintains and ensures all working and patient areas are in reasonable order. Communicates effectively with a wide variety of people and different age groups. Possesses tactfulness and persistence alongside the demonstrating the ability to remain patient and calm. Demonstrates ability to make quick decisions while remaining emotionally stable during crisis events. Displays extraordinary professionalism and tact when interacting with customers and employees. Demonstrates empathy and a caring attitude towards customers under stress. Effectively motivates staff in order to attain organizational goals. Supports leadership in customer service initiative for the front line staff. Possesses a positive attitude and ability to adapt easily to change. Perceives the needs of patients, visitors and family members, offering assistance to them as appropriate. Supports Sanford in serving as a department resource for the service excellence culture and the mission, vision and values. Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to support all levels of the organization. Possesses ability to demonstrate organizational skills and accuracy.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Representative will assist the Guest Services Supervisor in coordinating the general work flow of the Guest Services environment. Responsible for assisting Guest Services Supervisor with staffing issues, scheduling maintenance, department training, and orientation of new employees.

Lead Representative will provide information to Guest Services Supervisor regarding circumstances related to work performance and department issues in a timely manner. Lead will ensure consistency of workload dissemination.

Lead Representative must have excellent computer, telephone, office, and interpersonal skills. Lead assists in taking ownership of the day-to-day operations of the Guest Services functions (to include: data entry, reports, informational changes, deletions, time and attendance, etc.). Informs authorities of malfunctioning equipment. Lead will order department office supplies and maintain appropriate par level to assure staff’s ability to perform their roles. Directs patients, family members, guests and visitors to various hospital departments, clinics and other Sanford locations. Provides city information to patients and visitors regarding available lodging and area businesses and serves as resource to ensure information is accurate and up-to-date. Maintains and keeps lobby in reasonable order.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

This position is Monday through Friday 5:00am-1:30pm- every sixth week Wednesday is off. Once every six weeks, the weekend hours would be Saturday and Sunday 7:30-4:00pm with Monday off

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two years customer service experience required.
