Job Summary

Serves as the face of Sanford Health while exercising independent judgment and discretion in the promotion of Sanford Health’s golf program and other services while driving a designated vehicle to transport goods, services, equipment and occasionally ambassador team members for sporting events. Drives a single vehicle over 26,001 pounds GVWR to transport event resources or a truck-trailer combination exceeding 26,001 pounds GVWR. Responsible for coordinating and executing event logistics and timelines. Works in concert with operational stakeholders, vendors and members of the Golf Ambassador team to ensure seamless event planning and execution, as well as impactful event experiences as defined by stakeholders. Promotes the Sanford brand through professional interactions with the public and professional athletes. Must act and conduct one's self in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Combines motor vehicle handling ability and communication skills. Medical information sensitivity and confidentiality are a must, and are practiced at all times. Transports safely and as scheduled. Assures that all support equipment are well maintained and in good operating condition. Sets up equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations and Sanford policy. Maintains appropriate records per Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and Sanford required reports. Aware and communicates scheduling conflicts as needed or predicted. Management of vehicle needs in coordination with fleet manager to address route management, permits, licensure, maintenance, regulatory requirements.

Must be comfortable and confident driving and maneuvering in high traffic & congested areas. Navigates the transport vehicle at events where the situational environment varies for driving, space, setup and logistics. Expected to perform mechanical inspection of the transport vehicle, generator and clinical environment prior to transit, during transit and at event.

Responsible for setting up and breaking down the event areas on scheduled event days. May also transport other golf ambassadors and staff to and from event, as necessary. Extensive travel required to manage events at various stops. Working hours may vary depending on event and venue, flexibility to work various hours & shifts will be required. Performs other related duties as assigned.


Must have High school diploma or equivalent. Post-Secondary education strongly preferred.

Must have an understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) driver compliance requirements and endorsements. Driver history must comply with Sanford driver qualification standards for insurability.

At least two years of experience strong preferred.

Class A or B with Air Brake Commercial Drivers License required, as applicable to the position, and full compliance with DOT regulations required. If position requires Hazmat endorsement, must pass a Federal background check with Transportation Security Administration. Must maintain all required endorsements. Must maintain valid DOT medical certification card.

Depending on department, Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification may be required upon hire.
