The director of web and digital strategy is responsible for the long-term vision of web and digital marketing channels and arbiter of quality for digital, web and email initiatives, which affect both the brand and revenue-generation. Accountable to connecting enterprise marketing and brand strategy to appropriate tools, content and integration in the technology ecosystem. Responsible for strategic planning, design, development, execution and implementation of all company-directed websites and digital engagement platforms in alignment with the enterprise-wide marketing strategy. Ensures email programs, web architecture and content are intentionally designed with consumer experience in mind and consistent with industry best practices.
Provides strategic leadership and creative thinking tied to the analysis of technology trends and the identification of new opportunities and is accountable for execution of new platforms. Collaborates with business subject matter experts to understand business objectives, while maintaining and focusing on a seamless customer experience from a digital ecosystem.
Works strategically across the marketing department to maximize communication and outreach efforts to increase traffic, volumes and other pertinent objectives.
Leads governance and protection of website standards and guidelines and ensures the highest standards of user experience, brand consistency, editorial and graphic quality, consistency and best practices involving SEO, site architecture, navigation, process flows, page-level interactions, functionality and accessibility.
Drives processes to empower creative teams to execute on visual, content and web strategy. Benchmarks Sanford web and digital initiatives against others to inform strategy and execution.
Enables the team to craft deliverables including site maps, content authoring guidelines, taxonomies, content distribution plans and many more.
Develops a robust reporting program in collaboration with marketing operations leader that measures delivery and assessment of web channel, content and email marketing.
Maintains a deep understanding of business objectives, strategies and opportunities and the competitive landscape.
Demonstrates a track record of developing and tracking web analytics to drive insights and ability to build loyal followings.
Aligns internal teams to work collaboratively to create a cohesive and consistent experience across web properties and email marketing. Manages department staff, budgets and assignments to ensure alignment to strategic plan initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university in information technology, computer sciences, marketing, business or a closely related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of seven years of professional level experience in emerging digital platforms, interactive marketing or digital platform management, UX design and/or technical website development in a highly complex and matrixed organization, particularly with large-scale websites required.
Passes and maintains all Google AdWords and BING certifications.
