Job Summary

Collaborate with regional laboratory executives, medical officers, laboratory Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) directors, and administration to oversee the quality and regulatory aspects of the laboratories across the enterprise. Directly accountable to executive leadership within enterprise laboratories with indirectly accountable to the leadership within market specific laboratories. Duties include implementation of enterprise-wide policies and procedures, overseeing enterprise-wide functional workgroups, new test development, standardization, and test utilization. Responsible for monitoring quality metrics, performance improvement activities, regulatory audits and responding to high level incidents related to laboratory operations. Serves as a laboratory/institutional liaison in the interpretation of federal and state regulations impacting the clinical laboratories and serves as a resource for the research laboratories.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science required. Master's degree preferred.

Minimum two years experience with laboratory regulatory and quality oversight required. Minimum five years of laboratory operations. One year of experience in management or supervision of a clinical laboratory preferred.

Possess a Health and Human Services (HHS), for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), approved laboratory certification or laboratory specialty certification; or applicant must be registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within first 6 months of employment.
