The Compensation Analyst provides support in design, implementation and administration of Sanford's compensation philosophy. Conducts job analysis, job evaluations and salary reviews. Monitors and analyzes effectiveness of existing compensation practices and procedures and recommending plan revisions to complete with market trends. Assists in compiling, preparing and presenting compensation data to senior management. Keeping appraised of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure organizational compliance. Research, analyze, and resolve compensation issues or inquiries escalated by Employee Service Center. Advise Employee Service Center employees as needed when handling complex compensation transactions. Process accurate pay changes for employees including relevant documentation. Run annual bonus modeling reports and send to Total Rewards Center of Expertise (COE) for approval. Evaluate annual merit increases, special market increases, annual structure adjustments, etc. to ensure they are within guidelines. Evaluate promotions, demotions, and transfers to ensure they are within guidelines. Assists in preparation of reports for Total Rewards COE for all phases of the compensation review and approval process. Validate policy compliance and accuracy. Ensure all necessary documents and approvals are received and information is accurately entered into compensation systems.


Identifies the major forces, events and people impacting and impacted by the situation at hand. Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with each team member. Uses active listening skills and probing techniques to understand cause of a conflict. Learns new concepts, processes and tools related to own immediate responsibilities. Processes limited amounts of detailed information with good accuracy. Uses varying problem-solving approaches and techniques as appropriate. Communicates well downward, upward, and outward. Responds to day-to-day operational priorities while still making progress on project work.


This position can be located in Sioux Falls, SD, or Fargo, ND.


Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline or minimum six years of related work experience.

Working knowledge of Human Resources operations preferred as well as general computer skills and Microsoft products.
