Acts as the key point of contact between Sanford and its clients providing the highest level of professionalism. Answers queries, offers advice and introduces new laboratory products. Reviews sales performance, negotiates contracts and scope of services. Aims to achieve monthly and annual targets consistently and aggressively. Educates, instructs, and up sell all assigned and newly generated accounts in a predetermined geographic territory and enable Sanford to maximize and maintain the volume of business these accounts may produce.
Develops a sales strategy for existing and future territories with the awareness of first impression impact. Deeply integrated in guiding patient care, providing comprehensive clinical and anatomic laboratory development services.
Sells laboratory services by establishing contact and developing relationships with customers and prospects. Achieves organizational and territory revenue objectives while forging strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, as well as upper and mid-level executives within assigned accounts and prospects. Grows sales in assigned territory in accordance with quotas established by senior management.
Ability to collaborate in a professional and respectful manner with internal stakeholders to maximize quality, analyze profitability, and build strong strategic customer relationships. Provides ongoing service and problem solving to customer base within geographic territory. Business retention and growth of assigned account base and new accounts in defined geography.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Identifies product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors. Seeks business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating position in industry, researching and analyzing sales options.
Conducts service reviews with accounts and follows up to ensure operational efficiency for both the practice and Sanford. Maintains accurate records of all prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, and follow-up activities within assigned territory. Documents sales activities, pipeline, referrals, and forecast in client relationship database.
Demonstrates and understands the importance of the 'big picture' thinking, planning, and ability to apply organizational acumen to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops if needed. Reviews professional publications, establishes personal networks, benchmarking state of the art practices, and participating in professional societies for personal growth and development.
Identifies different sales proposals and their target customers.;Presents a professional image, especially when dealing with customers.;Maintains a network of professional contacts, internal and external.;Ensures negotiators have awareness of complementary yet diverse interests.;Facilitates the sales and negotiation process by making appropriate and prompt recommendations.;Finds new or non-traditional ideas to improve effectiveness in own area of responsibility.;Solves sales closing problems in an effective and timely manner.;Alters the sales message to highlight product benefits to different customers and circumstances.;Monitors progress toward goals throughout the period of measurement.;Establishes and maintains credibility with clients and teammates.;Analyzes and synthesizes information and devises alternative resolution strategies.;Evaluates demographics, trends and issues affecting specific markets and customers; makes recommendations accordingly.;
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of five years proven track record of successful sales growth in medical sales. Two years experience specifically in diagnostic sales preferred. Ability to articulate product information when interacting with physicians.

The employee must have a current valid driver’s license, and must meet all guidelines for Sanford Health Category II drivers. Required to travel to territory locations occurs consistently.
Registered by the American Society of Laboratory Science, as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, is not required for this position, however may be helpful.
