Contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first hand experiences that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Assist in the completion of projects and administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned function and/or location. Position is with the Inpatient Behavioral Health (3B) unit. Intern will work under the direction and guidance of Dr. Mariah Laver Juanto, Psychologist. Primary responsibilities are centered around various performance improvement projects; specific duties will vary based on the needs of the projects, but will likely include literature reviews, data collection, data entry, data analyses using statistical methods, and presentation of project information (e.g., reports, PowerPoint presentations).


Current enrollment or recent graduate of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university.

Required qualifications: Must be able to commit to set scheduled hours during the 12-week internship. Must have the ability to be flexible in daily tasks and changes in priorities of projects and tasks. Must have some knowledge of how to use Microsoft Excel for data entry. Must have strong written communication skills.

Preferred qualifications: Students in Psychology or related field, or students in Nursing, or other health-related field, proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data entry and analyses, proficiency in statistical methods (e.g., t-tests, ANOVAs, basic probabilities), strong verbal communication skills, knowledge of mental health disorders (e.g., Abnormal Psychology course).

Knowledge of healthcare industry preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
