Aids in sports science related assessments with support of athlete services. Knowledgeable in collecting and analyzing scientific data, creating assessment reports, and providing appropriate feedback and recommendations. Ability to support senior team members. May assist with research studies at Sanford Sports Science Institute with the goal of helping athletes optimize their health and performance. Applies technical knowledge and specialized sports science skill sets to research projects. Aids in research data collection, analysis, and dissemination. May co-author scientific papers for presentation or publication. Performs all functions under supervision. Integrates with Sanford Sports Medicine teams including Sanford Power, Sports PT and Athletic Training. Supports tours, events, and education outreach opportunities. May integrate with students at the Sport Science Institute.
Monitors patients' reactions during the assessment process to assist with diagnosis. Perform general administrative tasks, such as keeping records or writing reports. Conduct research or provide instruction on subject matter related to athletic training or sports medicine. Gathers information on trends and developments from studies and publications. Accepts and provides honest and respectful feedback. Utilizes designated data analysis software (both internal and external software) to analyze data. Communicates well downward, upward, and outward. Authors or co-authors white papers on specialized and state-of-the art topics. Completes current work according to assigned priorities.
Integrated with Athletic Training, Sanford POWER and POWER PT, will support and integrate with return to performance program, athletic training outreach, Running evaluations, and return to play testing.
Possession of professional licensure and/or certification(s) within focus area of exercise or sports science, wellness, nutrition, or physical therapy preferred. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Must have earned a bachelors degree from an accredited institution in the fields of Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Sports Science, Movement Science, Nutrition, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy or other closely related discipline.
