Responsible for all aspects of the clinical experiences of students enrolled in the program, including organization, administration, continuous review and revision, planning for and development of locations (with appropriate supervision) for evolving practice skills, and the general effectiveness of the clinical experience. Plan and conduct didactic and laboratory educational courses for respiratory care interns. Initiate, conduct and coordinate orientation and ongoing competency training and documentation for respiratory therapy, nursing and other healthcare professionals. Coordinate continuing education programs for respiratory therapy, nursing and other healthcare professionals. Responsible for all aspects of the clinical experiences of students enrolled in the respiratory care program, including schedules, objectives, and competencies for all clinical rotations. Additional responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development and community outreach.
Maintains current certifications in specialty and continues education when necessary. Uses multiple presentation tools and techniques, adapting/fitting them to audience and topic. Defines key learning objectives for an assigned/given population for a specific curriculum. Delivers written and oral communication, responds to questions and concerns, and produce specific outcomes and impact.
This position is full time 80 hours/pp day shift 8:00AM-4:30PM. No holidays or weekends.
Master's degree from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) is required. Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care from a CoARC accredited respiratory therapy program is required.
Must have a minimum of four years' experience as an Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least two years in clinical respiratory care. Must have a minimum of two years' experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor.
Must have current Respiratory Therapy licensure in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by positon. Must have Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and maintain active status according to NBRC credentialing requirements. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
