Contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first hand experiences that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Work collaboratively with organization leadership, enhancing knowledge and skills and improving the delivery of quality healthcare. Assist in the completion of projects and administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned function and/or location. Attend training and development opportunities, learning about various processes and functions within the organization.
Collaborates with departmental associates and management. Researches business related data and generates and interprets basic analytics. Demonstrates a basic understanding of organizational project management practices and tools. Demonstrates the ability to speak, write and present clearly. Delivers formal and informal stand-up presentations or demos to audiences of all kinds. Identifies tasks or outputs that require accuracy and detail-level attention. Description: This internship will be assisting the Senior Quality Strategist for Sanford Clinics to meet program requirements for the final year of our Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative. Tasks will include, but not limited to interviewing clinic practices, collecting information on practice transformation, writing exemplar practice stories, and identifying available data sources to demonstrate success.
Internship Responsibilities: • Assist with meeting the program requirements for the Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative.
• Mentor/Preceptor specific activities that pertain to the position (ex. 1-on-1 mentor sessions, 1 Million Cups meetings, department specific training).
o 1:1 Mentor Sessions.
o Orientation to the TCPI grant and partnership with the COMPASS Practice Transformation Network (PTN).
o Orientation to the Quality Strategy Department.
o Partner with Senior Quality Strategist to develop and execute the exemplar practice story process for Sanford Health.
• Interview clinic practices to collect practice transformation and improvement activities aligned with TCPI.
• Collect practice level data to validate the exemplar status recognition.
• Write exemplar practice stories for submission.
• Other grant related duties as assigned.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Autonomous and takes initiative.
• Collaborative and adaptable.
• Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Project Management, English, or health-related degree meeting the above qualifications or an immediate graduate having received one of the previously listed majors.
• Must be able to commit to the hours Scheduled during the 12 week internship.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Current enrollment or recent graduate of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university. Knowledge of healthcare industry preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
