Provides spiritual and emotional support during illness, injury, crisis and/or emergency. Performs spiritual care, effectively documenting spiritual care visits. Conducts spiritual care services and duties including arranging worship and administering rituals. Educates internal and external healthcare groups on spiritual and religious care and responsibilities of chaplains. Networks with community faith leaders as appropriate. Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team, collaborating with other members to develop and provide spiritual support to client and families. MTGS Demonstrates knowledge and experience in providing spiritual support to client and families. Demonstrates ability to minister to people of diverse faith traditions, displaying respect for cultural diversity. Provides education and spiritual care events within the hospital and broader community. Serves to support, teach, and mentor peers and students when appropriate and requested. When requested, provides spiritual leadership at organizational events such as memorial services, dedications and public events. Manage complex and challenging cases by consulting with interdisciplinary team and chaplain peers. Follows the Association of Professional Chaplains Code of Professional Ethics. Addresses the spiritual care referrals and consults in a timely manner. Follows departmental policies and procedures. Demonstrates critical thinking skills under adverse situations in order to respond appropriately to patients and families. Possesses awareness of personal biases and demonstrates the ability to set them aside while at work. Possesses ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships. Exhibits initiative with events. Provides leadership qualities when necessary. Participates in departmental and staff meetings as scheduled. Depending on location, may be required to serve on call as assigned.

Cites personal examples of persistence in the face of difficulties. Demonstrates an ability to use mindfulness for defined situations. Displays ability to perceive and harness one's emotions, facilitating cognitive activities like problem solving. Provides pastoral care by respecting religious diversity and individuals' rights. Recognizes changing demands and priorities; validates changes with management. Uses language appropriate to audience. Works to maintain a greater sense of skill, connection, openness, and balance through mindfulness.
This position is PRN, assisting with the department as needed. Hours could include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Meets one of the following criteria: Minimum of three units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required. Board Certification by Association of Professional Chaplains or other cognate group or certification eligible, obtaining certification within two years of hire. Clinical experience as a Chaplain in a medical or healthcare setting for minimum of three consecutive years in full time status. -One Unit = 400 hours, 300 clinical ministry, 100 group experience under supervision of certified supervisor of CPE program. Chaplain: 3 units of CPE required, 4 preferred. Education: Masters degree or above.
