Responsible for coordinating initiatives, deliverables, and documentation required to obtain and maintain accreditation by oncology accrediting organizations, including: American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (COC), American Society of Clinical Oncology Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI), American College of Surgeons National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), and others that may arise. Provides a lead role in research data collection. Prepares materials and agendas for Cancer Committee meetings. The coordinator is expected to support the clinical and administrative teams to provide leadership in the development, organization, implementation, and monitoring of the accreditation activities at Sanford Health. Ability to manage multiple concurrent, collaborative initiatives and facilitate leveraging efforts between work groups, monitor and analyze cancer related outreach activities, complete and submit reports and data to accrediting bodies and federal governmental agencies and contractors, coordinate and participate in conference calls, identity and participate in community awareness activities, coordinate and lead as necessary meetings with physicians, groups, or individuals. Engages with the entire oncology team to develop an effective network inside and outside Sanford Health. Collaborates with staff, leaders, and physicians across the entire health system to help create a continuum of cancer care and exceptional quality. Reports directly to the Director of Cancer Services. Experienced in managing multiple projects and working with broad diverse groups of people. Able to develop data collection methods and analyze data for meaningful analysis. Ability to work through and with others. Skillful at managing change. Work hours are generally Monday-Friday 8-5, no holidays, and rare weekends. May occasionally need to work early in the morning or late in the evening for meeting in and outside the hospital. Workload may on occasion require substantial time beyond 40 hours per week. Occasional travel via automobile, commercial aircraft, and overnight stays may be required.


Establishes policies and guidelines for the treatment of cancer patients. Consults on latest accreditation and performance standards. Documents project meetings, particularly status reports on deliverables and next steps. Explores own motivation and initiative and how it relates to the workplace. Creates a team environment of accountability and commitment for reaching project goals. Provides guidance in documenting pertinent information. Contributes to best practices for effective problem resolution process. Establishes and maintains productive working relationships within and outside of own area. Develops performance expectations for team accomplishments to encourage members to collaborate. Checks documents thoroughly according to standard processes and procedures. Makes sure project problems are surfaced and reported to appropriate project personnel. Defines agenda, issues and participants for a small to mid-size meeting. This position supports the American College of Surgeons - Commission on Cancer (CoC) program accreditation efforts for the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo. The position will work with cancer committee physicians, members and oncology staff in achieving the annual goals and established standards set by the Commission on Cancer.


Current North Dakota Registered Nurse license or multistate licensure privileges if applicable. Attends mandatory educational requirements as directed by the organization. Certification in own field is desired. Bachelors degree in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or other applicable field is required. Masters degree is preferred. Three to five years experience required. Experience in managing multiple high visibility projects and working with broad diverse groups of people is desired.
