Job Summary

Responsible for all clinic and academy activities specific to designated sporting specialty. Manage the daily activities of all sporting skill development, scheduling of facilities and court/field time, budgeting for academy and oversight of all academy coaches. Responsibilities also include instruction and preparation of curriculum for skill training and successful growth of all aspects of the academy.

Oversee all levels of skill development and must be well-versed in all phases of teaching specific designated sporting skills.

Possess strong administrative skills to manage and mentor academy coaches to ensure the teaching of established program objectives consistently throughout the academy. Must be able to effectively schedule practices, workouts, clinics, camps and tournaments, and communicate effectively with parents, athletes and Sanford Sports Complex administration.

Must be flexible to cover training hours at any time of day, which could include weekends and holidays.

Department Details

Hours of this job would be full time Monday - Thursday working around the hours of 2:00PM-10:00PM. Occasional Fridays. Heavy weekend requirement during the winter season. During off season/summertime weekends would be a lot less. No holidays.

Looking for POWER Hockey Coach with background as player and coach. Brand new training facility with skate treadmill and a skills room with synthetic ice attached to hockey arena. Position works with Sanford POWER coaches to offer comprehensive training program for hockey athletes in the local community. May travel to regional communities to assist with and lead camps/clinics.


Bachelor’s degree required. In lieu of degree, may consider six years applicable work experience.

Minimum of two years skills training and/or coaching experience.
