Hours Per Shift: 8 hr
Provide education and support to adults that affect the lives of children ages 0-8 years old, mainly parents and childcare providers.
Establishes and maintains effective interpersonal relationships with job related contacts. The Family Life Educator assists in the coordination and implementation of grant projects, service agreements, and contracts to help assure success in the community and at the hospital. Conducts presentations, and educational consultations. Knowledge of and use of appropriate age-related protocols relating to developmental, health and safety needs of children. Coordinates specific
course logistics and objectives pertinent to subject matter. Must be able to work with growing needs of unique populations served. Must possess observations skills to properly assess family and individual needs. Work hours vary according to department and client needs. Some evenings and/or weekend work hours required.
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence. Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts. Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and needs, determine their priorities for their children, and suggest ways that they can promote learning and development. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests. Builds networks and effective working relationships in relevant organizational areas. Demonstrates good judgment in deciding when to involve a third party. Observes skill practice; offers constructive feedback. Documents plans with clear objectives, action steps, accountabilities, resource requirements and timelines. Develops presentation objectives and organizes key topics, speaking points, materials, and flow.
This is a full-time opportunity. Schedule includes Mostly Days, 2 evenings/week, and 1 Saturday/month. Looking for an individual with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Education OR with a Bachelor's Degree and experience working with children under 8 years old.
Bachelors degree required. Area of focus in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family Relations or related field
One year of experience collaborating with adults on the development, health and safety needs of children.
Valid drivers license required. Must maintain good driving record.
