Expert administrative knowledge and clinical skills. Coordinate admissions and transfers of patience. Serve as a clinical resource for questions and concerns related to patient care. Manage staffing needs and staffing issues with appropriate department leadership. Function as a 'first responder' for providers, staff, patients, and family issues and concerns. Provide clinical and staff rounding. Facilitate the flow of patient care. Provide back-up assistance for staff in areas with minimal staffing. Participate actively in clinical quality, safety, service and work flow improvements. Manage clinical project and serve on committees as needed.
The nursing department is open 24 hours/day; any of those hours may be an expectation of employment specific to the needs of the department. These needs change dependent upon staffing availability and patient census. Will be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Committee meeting attendance may be expected at times.
MN RN License; NALS and ACLS certification every other year. CPR certification annually. Affiliation with an outside professional nursing organization is encouraged but is not required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree, Diploma, or BachelorΓÇÖs Degree in Nursing. Twenty-four contact hours every two years as required by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Participation in continuing education programs as offered by SRHW.
