Part-time, 48 hours per two week pay period. 6 hours per day, 4 days a week.


Serves as a liaison between patients, families, physicians and medical support staff in answering and directing phone calls. Will create an electronic patient file, verify patient information, provide, scan and route necessary patient forms and documents. May schedule patient appointments, arrange interpreter services, check patients in/out, offer patient enrollment to additional Sanford resources and applications. May also coordinate provider schedule, resolve work queue issues and manage recall and waitlists. May collect co-pay and/or payment on patient accounts. Displays professionalism and promotes an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation. Must be able to work as part of a team and also independently. Must always maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.


Understand and obtain authorization for diagnostic testing, surgical procedures and physician referrals. This position may have access to medications for purposes of distribution to licensed personnel. Excellent time management, organization and communication skills (written and verbal) are required. Must understand clinic procedures and opening/end of day protocols. Knowledge of organizational policies, office management practices and computer applications. Proficiently operates a multi-line telephone, computer, copier, fax machine, scanner, and webcam, as appropriate. Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.


High School graduation or GED is required. Prefer one year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting. More than 2 years of experience with surgical/scheduling experience preferred.
