JOB SUMMARY

Contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first hand experience that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Must have good human relations and communications skills; must be able to follow procedures and instructions given by the leadership staff. Must have strong problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products.

The fall internship session is intended to provide juniors and seniors in college an opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job experience while attending to their coursework. Individuals applying for a fall internship must be from within a 100-mile radius of the internship location. Individuals accepted into a fall internship must commit to working 20-32 hours per week on-site until the maximum of 384 hours is met or another end date is agreed upon. Fall internship session start date is September 5, 2017.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate will be assisting in the transformation of how HR Operations serves Sanford Health employees and applicants.. There will be exposure to mapping of processes, project management and analytics in this exciting opportunity to learn and grow with the organization. The focus on innovating the best possible outcomes for our employees and supporting continuous improvement through measurement, accountability and communication make this a unique and exciting chance to learn about all that HR encompasses

Internship Responsibilities:

• Participate in converting current documentation to the new policy and procedure application for the enterprise.

• Support HR in consolidating calls to the growing Employee Service Center

• Development One on One mentorship, team sprints, meeting participation

• Assist in migrating information in to case and knowledge application

• Data analysis of HR Operations activities, project progress, audits

• Participate in focus groups aimed to improve efficiency for the benefit of our employees

• Shadowing team members to learn how Shared HR Services organizations operate

• Testing of application for user acceptance

Intern Qualifications:

• Results oriented individual with a passion to improve user and customer experiences

• Coachable and interested in learning in a fast paced, highly accountable organization

• Must be a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management, Business Management, Human Resources, Project Management or an immediate graduate having received one of the previously listed majors.

• Must be able to commit to the hours scheduled during the 12-week internship.

• Strong communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
