Responsible to implement the nursing process within Sanford and the continuum of care. The nursing process is utilized to assess, diagnose, establish a plan with outcome criteria, intervene, evaluate, and document human responses to actual or potential health problems. This practice includes dependent, interdependent and independent functions. Functions in structured and unstructured health care settings described as a geographical and/or situational environment which may not have established policies and procedures. The nurse utilizes independent nursing judgment when integrating health care. Knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of adult and geriatric patients. Accountable for adhering to established policies, procedures and eligibility requirements, admission policies, Medicare guidelines and budgetary constraints established.
72 hours every 2 weeks. Will work every 3rd weekend and every 3rd holiday.
Iowa RN License required. All facility nursing staff to be certified in CPR, and Mandatory Abuse Training (Adult and Pediatric) with the exception of Sanford Senior Care they need to be certified in only Adult. Hospital Nursing also to be certified in ACLS, PALS, NALS, TNCC and Mandatory Abuse-Adult and child. Re-certification is mandatory for all nurses as per the regulatory guidelines Affiliation with an outside professional nursing organization is encouraged but is not required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree, Diploma, or Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Thirty-six contact hours every two years as required by the Iowa Board of Nursing. Participation in continuing education programs as offered by Sanford Sheldon.
