Hours Per Shift: 8 hr
Under close supervision of a physical therapist, performs delegated or routine tasks related to the operation of a physical therapy department, including patient preparation, transportation and departmental maintenance. Schedules appointments for patients. Prepares patients for physical therapy procedures as required. Aids in the instruction and assistance of patients practicing prescribed exercises and functional activities. Transports and safeguards patients to and from treatment areas. Maintains patient medical records and other paperwork in a physiotherapy department. Arranges treatment supplies to ensure an orderly and sufficient stock. Provides a safe, clean and well organized work environment. Disinfects and maintains physiotherapeutic equipment after treatments.
Work hours may include varied day shifts, weekends, and holidays. Physical therapy is delivered to patients of all ages and includes inpatient, outpatients, and those at offsite locations.
Conforms to the license standards of the state where services are provided. When applicable, the employee must have a current valid Category II drivers license and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category II drivers. Must be a graduate of an accredited program for the Physical Therapist Assistant.
