JOB SUMMARY

The Radiology Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Diagnostic area, coordinating the scheduling, staffing, equipment assignment and patient flow. The Radiology Supervisor also is responsible for supervision and direction of the staff and scheduling of staff on rotations and other assignments. This position performs performance appraisals and has the authority to recommend, reward and/or discipline. The technologist observes, evaluates and participates in the educational processes of students. This person must be able to function independently and also be able to assume the duties of department supervisor as necessary. Must possess the skills and knowledge of Diagnostic x-rays. Must be able to perform related procedures and protocols. Has the ability to learn new technology and is able to orient new technologists. Demonstrates leadership qualities to provide direction to staff and to handle inter- and intradepartmental conflicts. Possesses the ability to professionally obtain information from patients or their responsible parties to further improve their personalized treatment and care. On a continuum, the technologist works to develop an understanding of the patientΓÇÖs physical and emotional status. Works with all age groups.

Supervisor of General Radiology at South University.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be registered by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists). If working in ND and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, must be licensed through the ND MIRT Board of Examiners. Must have completed an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Two years experience as a staff radiologic technologist required; previous supervisory experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Must have a thorough understanding of diagnostic radiographic principles.
