Responsible for a comprehensive program design, implementation and supervision of athletes/clients of various ages and skill levels. Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. A team minded professional who embraces growth and challenges. Ability to work in individual, small group and team settings. Thorough understanding of the physiological basis of exercise and the ability to program/instruct according to the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and USA Weightlifting (USAW) guidelines. Provide instruction and demonstration of correct Olympic lifting technique, along with other strength, speed development, agility and plyometric exercises while applying them in a periodization framework. Provide instruction and demonstration of appropriate dynamic warm up, mobility and stability exercises based on individualized athlete needs. Ability to administer and interpret SCORE testing assessment for pre/post evaluation of athletic readiness. Complete SCORE testing report and deliver results to athlete/parents. Incorporate sporttesting photoelectric laser timing system for all large group and team SCORE testing. Ability to administer and interpret results for submaximal cardiovascular and fitness assessments. Collaborate with Sanford Sport Science Institute (SSSI) staff to gather accurate and reliable athlete testing data for use in research. Work with Sanford Physical Therapy staff to incorporate SCORE pro biomechanical assessment results into individualized athlete performance programming. Assist with collection and computer entry of accurate athlete testing data. Maintain an accessible record of all written and electronic athlete performance programming. Safety, maintenance and cleanliness of the turf field, weight room and equipment.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in the field of Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health, Physical Education, Recreation or other closely related discipline. Master's Degree is preferred. Highly desirable two or more years of experience in the strength & conditioning field at the high school, college, professional or private sector. Competency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills is required. Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Presents as a "team minded" professional who embraces growth and challenges. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the physiological basis of exercise and the ability to program/instruct according to the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and USA Weightlifting (USAW) guidelines. Must have, and maintain, current CPR certification. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification and/or ACSM Health and Fitness Instructor are required. If not certified at hire, must attain certification within one year. CSCS Certification through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) is required within one (1) year of date hired.
