JOB SUMMARY

The Monitor Tech provides support services. Some duties include: basic computer keyboarding skills, monitoring and interpreting patient rhythms, tearing down and assembling patient charts, calling other departments to inform them of ordered tests and procedures, and stocking supplies. Must know how to use organizational policies and procedures. May have access to medications for purposes of distribution to licensed personnel. May include reception duties i.e. answering phones, use of multi-line telephone system and spectra-links. Must be organized and have ability to prioritize work, function under and handle stress and ability to do detailed work efficiently. Must have good interpersonal skills, strong communication skills and able to collaborate with other team members.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

May float throughout hospital to assist where needed. Assists in admitting patients to the floor & monitoring EKG's. May assist with clerical work & answering phones.

12 hours shifts 7:00am-7:30pm; 7:00pm-7:30am – rotating every other weekend and holiday.

QUALIFICATIONS

C.N.A. certification is required and must be obtained within four months of hire. When applicable, must have a valid drivers license. CPR certification required within 6 months of employment and completion of basic arrhythmia course. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience with clerical/business services, communications equipment, and computer entry are desirable but not essential.
